The partnership involves a business skills development programme that will foster research and technology transfer between the two institutions. The two institutions are desirous of continuing the relationship over the next five years in developing and impacting business skills in the students and staff, the MUBS principal, Prof. Waswa Balunywa, said during the signing of the MOU at MUBS, Nakawa campus.. He signed on behalf of MUBS, while Prof. Christa Olson did for Drake University. Prof. Olson is the Vice Provost of Drake University.

“When we link with a university in a developed country, we fast-track in the areas of research and technology exchange”. This benchmark makes us come up with business programmes that are related to our economy, Prof. Balunywa observed. MUBS is fast-tracking with developed universities in order to improve business research and technology transfer for better programmes.

The collaboration will focus on joint research, which will improve the business knowledge of both the students and staff. “We need to have joint research and publications which will impact positively on both the students and members of staff” , Balunywa noted. The principal said the cooperation will encourage internationalization and enable members of the two institutions to share resources through networking specifically facilitate faculty and staff exchange, student exchange and joint conferences.
