On July 6-10, 2015, the MUBS Executive Education Programme hosted Senior Bankers from South Africa under an organization known as BANSETA and Wits Business School, South Africa. The twenty four (24) delegates, who were led by the Program Director Mr. Richard Thomson from Wits Business School, had a view of the Ugandan economy through visiting of different places like banks and markets. The banks and institutions visited include; Barclays Bank, Finance Trust Bank, FINCA Uganda, Opportunity Bank, Vision Fund and Pride Micro-Finance, where they were taken through the services that they offer and how they have helped with economic growth.

They were facilitated by Prof. Waswa Balunywa; MUBS Principal, Mr. Juma Kisaame; Managing Director DFCU Bank and Dr. Tanga Odoi from Makerere University who took them through the economy of the country. They were also hosted to a panel of discussion by Dr. Isaac Nkote, Mr. Michael Kaddu, Ms. Norine Babirye, Mr. Hannington Thenge and Ms. Jane Aik and they were able to express themselves according to the findings from the different fields visited.

This workshop is an annual event where the South African Bankers visit different countries to learn more about their economy. In Uganda, MUBS was selected to be the host.
